One research area of additive manufacturing is material development and property optimisation, being investigated in our study through static mechanical tests. The materials tested are Al-Si alloys with 8–16 wt.% Si, without any other alloying elements. Tensile strengths achieved for the different materials are between 263 and 411 MPa.
